Have you ever noticed how life seems to swing like a pendulum between extremes before settling into balance? That's exactly what we unpack in this episode, starting with a fun conversation about made-up words that sets the stage for a relaxed yet insightful discussion. We delve into how the pendulum effect influences everything from personal experiences and societal trends to stock market behaviors. With relatable examples like upbringing and career choices, we break down how popping between extremes is a part of life's natural rhythm and emphasize the importance of finding that sweet spot we like to call "balanceability."

Imagine pursuing your dream job only to realize it's not all it's cracked up to be—that's the pendulum effect in action! We navigate how awareness of this phenomenon can help us clarify our true desires and avoid common pitfalls. From spiritual pendulums that trap us in repetitive cycles to lessons drawn from the movie "Runaway Bride," we explore how experimenting with different extremes can lead to inner peace. By gaining a deeper understanding of our swings between highs and lows, we can ultimately steer ourselves toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Lastly, we touch on the joy and adventure in embracing life's full spectrum. Whether it’s trying on different roles, living fearlessly, or facing our deepest fears through journaling, we champion the idea that experiencing both ends of the spectrum enriches our lives. And of course, we wrap up with a joyful reflection on our podcasting journey, filled with laughter, debates on pronunciation, and heartfelt appreciation for our listeners. So tune in and join us for this enriching conversation—you won't want to miss it!

Speaker 1: Thank you, we are back today, dr. Speaker 2: Jenny. Speaker 1: Good morning. How is everybody? We hope you have an awesome day . By the way, Welcome to the Spiritual Grind. Speaker 2: We're superbbedness. Speaker 1: Superbedness. Speaker 2: Stupendous. Speaker 1: Stupendous. What word is that? Superbedness, superbedness, superbly. Speaker 2: Supervolous. Speaker 1: Supervolous. Speaker 2: What does that mean? I have no idea. Supervolous. Speaker 1: I have no idea, maybe that's just somebody looking at somebody to let us know in the comments what that definition is , Cause we don't know. I think we could have just made it up. Could be a new genius. Speaker 2: Could be. Speaker 1: Who knows? Speaker 2: Who knows? Speaker 1: Well, we're hoping you're enjoying the podcast, guys and um, as we get these developing, these developing going topics come up along the way, we try to just follow our higher self and and talk through these things as we go, because this is literally something that Jenny and I do on a daily basis and we were talked into giving it to you guys live. And here we are not live, but at least recorded. And here we are doing it and we're happy about it and it's going quite well. We think we hope that you all enjoyed as much as we enjoy making them yeah, it's, it's lots of fun it's definitely our highest joy right now we sit over here and enjoy it and I know you can't see us because we're not video yet, but we will go video. We will Real soon. Speaker 2: I got to get me a new pair of ears to wear. Speaker 1: You got to get you an elf ear, yeah, or a fairy ear. Speaker 2: I got to get some sort of costume going. Speaker 1: Well, we'll see what happens. I don't think that's going to happen, but we're going to set our intentions right, but anyway . So today we're going to talk about the pendulum effect. Speaker 2: Ooh, the pendulum effect, ooh. Speaker 1: The pendulum effect in our life. Every day we pendulum something . Probably it affects everybody. We see it all the time, yep, and it's kind of crazy because it's many aspects. I see it in human behavior. I see it in energy exchanges. I see it in actions. I see it in human behavior. I see it in energy exchanges. I see it in actions. I see it in words. Speaker 2: You see it even in society. Speaker 1: In society. Yeah, that's totally right. I mean we have blue and red politics. It keeps penduling back and forth of who wins and who don't, and then they battle against one another. Speaker 2: Or like the little market where you trade your money. What's that called? Speaker 1: What the little market where you trade your money. What's that called? What the little market where you trade your money? What world are you living in here? Are you, are you? Are you admitting to money laundering on the air? No you mean the exchange is that what it's called exchange the stock exchange. Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the stock stocks, that's what you meant, yeah that wasn't even close, because that's not exchanging money. Speaker 1: That's normally giving the money and then it grows very slowly. Speaker 2: But the money exchange would be different, but you hear them talk about the bear market and the…. Speaker 1: Oh, you're talking about Bitcoin, the bear market. Speaker 2: No, okay, we've obviously broached some realm that neither one of us knows anything to do. What is the one where you put your money in it and they're on the floor yelling and? Speaker 1: trade that's the stock exchange. Buy, sell that's the New York Stock Exchange. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 1: And you see all the little numbers scrolling across the screen. Yeah, yeah, that's those little guys. Speaker 2: Now they do it all on computers but they still do it on the floor. It's a pendulum as well. Speaker 1: I agree. Pendulum as well, I agree. I agree. Speaker 2: That's all I was trying to get my gosh, that was like it was a roundabout way of getting there we had to go two miles around the block and then back again so the pendulum effect is when you. Speaker 1: it bases around a lot of things, like when you have a , an experience in your life that creates turmoil. We have a tendency to pendulum off of that and like, for example, if you were raised very poorly, yeah. And you're like. You know you get all your hand-me-down clothes from your older brother, or you know you wonder where you're going to eat . You know you didn't have holidays because you don't have the money to. When you become an adult, you pendulum off of that and you make sure that your kids never live that experience. That is a pendulum effect. Instead of having balance within it, generally go from one extreme to the next extreme until you find the balance in it . And then what happens after that, when you find the balance Right? And then what happens after that, when you find the balance. Speaker 2: You know years, months, decades, depending on how long it takes the pendulum to be satisfied. Hopefully you come back to neutral, yes, and then you find the space of balanceability. Speaker 1: Balanceability. Somebody can define that one as well Balanceability. Somebody can define that one as well Balanceability. Speaker 2: Well, what that means . Speaker 1: It means stability. Speaker 2: No, balanceability, Balanceability okay. That means that you're able to go a little this way, a little that way for each experience that comes your way. If you need a little more of this, then you go that way. If you need a little more of this, then you go that way. If you need a little more of that, then you go that way. Or if you just need to be neutral, then you're able to find neutral very easy and stay neutral within it. Speaker 1: Yes. Speaker 2: And balanceability. Speaker 1: Balanceability. Okay, I guess I understand the definition. I guess, yeah, I maybe understand it. Speaker 2: But pendulum is a real thing. Speaker 1: It really is. It happens a lot. We see it with women dating. We see it with men dating. They go from one extreme to the other extreme numerous times before they actually find the one that's right. Yeah, and the guy that goes from drinking to he's now a highly religious person. They do that through the 10-step program, I hear. Who knows? Speaker 2: yeah, I mean, like for me I can talk about my personal yes I was raised with one parent most of my life, and so my pendulum was I desperately , was seeking not Susan, but a co-parent Whenever the parent of my kids went away. It put me in a tailspin, and so I pendulumed into the complete, total opposite of by God, these kids are going to have another parent, we're going to co-parent , and I don't know what it looks like. I don't know, I don't care, but somebody is going to hold that spot by golly, and it caused me to pick ones that were not a good match for our family. Speaker 1: The pendulum broke, your picker. Speaker 2: It did, and so I was in and out of relationships, but it was because I was in such desperation and in such a pendulum. My kids needed daddy Right, but it was because I was in such desperation and in such a pendulum to make sure my kids had both parents to raise them, because I didn't, and I didn't want them to know what that was like, that I would pick people that were not a fit, they were not a good fit and it skewed my ability to pick somebody that would actually fit in and stay and hang about right. Speaker 1: Yes, you know, and the pendulum effect is not always negative. You know like, for example, if you can create your own inner peace within a pendulum as it's penduling, and understand what's going on, it will solidify successes. You know like being raised poorly and then suddenly you open a business and you become pretty wealthy later on in life. But as long as you recognize that it creates a good vibe and you can actually carry that on for many years to come, it can become your legacy if you choose to. Yeah, the pendulum effect also creates drive in oneself because it's a belief system that gets the bell rung by the backwards pendulum and when we recognize it, it can really catapult you into new areas of life because it is a driving force behind changing your life. Speaker 2: Yes, definitely it does. It sends you into, like you said, a driving force. But as the pessimist, as the bad cop, you're the good cop, I'm the optimist. It can also be a little bit of a tripping point if you're not careful, I agree. As I shared my example. Speaker 1: You mean your balanceability. Speaker 2: My balanceability was definitely off. Yeah, it can trip you up. Speaker 1: You know, and I bet, if everybody out there stops and thinks for a minute, they're going to identify some pendulums in their life. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 1: You know you hated this job until you found you know while you're in this job that you hate. You say I want a job that's nine to five. I want a job that's nine to five. I want a job that pays this much money. I want a job that does this. When you pendulum, you don't set your intentions fully, and so you just focus on those three things and you create your world, and then you go to it and guess what? You find the things that you hate in that job as well, and so you have to create the environment a little differently as you pendulum, because the pendulum effect is a driving force as long as you use it appropriately. Speaker 2: Or even if you don't, even if you don't use it, what he calls appropriately or inappropriate. What it's going to do, though, is it's going to help you identify what you want and identify what you don't want. Correct, so it still can be. Ooh, listen at me being optimistic, I know right. Miss Optimistic. Speaker 1: Look at you. Speaker 2: Oh, I'm so proud of myself. Speaker 1: Yes, you became optimistic for a minute. Speaker 2: It can help you define better and more spurs-size what you want. Speaker 1: More what Spurs-size, spurs-size, spurs-size Old? Speaker 2: Sp. Spur size, spur spice. Speaker 1: Spur spice, old spice , what? Speaker 2: Old spice. Speaker 1: It can, it can actually be, it can create clarity. Yeah definitely In what you do want and if you do that appropriately, you know that's where the driving force of spiritual pendulums come. Speaker 2: Do tell. Speaker 1: That is when you can have clarity within it and understand that, hey, I'm on a pendulum, and then you can let spirit guide you coming off that pendulum, so you don't keep going back and forth like the proverbial ball on the string it just keeps going back and forth . Speaker 2: Your bottom chin was like that little rubber bouncy ball that you play with in Jack. Speaker 1: My double chin or my real chin. Speaker 2: Well, we're not video yet, so we don't have to contour your double chin. Speaker 1: Okay, good, thank you . Can we have a makeup artist please, because I have too many wrinkles. Yes, if someone's a makeup artist out there, would you please reach out to us so that we can cover up his double chin see if you can get rid of my ugly, bring the anti-ugly stick yes, please do bless his pick and heart the entire toolbox of anti-ugly. But so when we pendulum and we recognize it's a pendulum and you create that clarity in it and the pendulum starts to come back to that balanceability spot , it can be quite rewarding. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 1: Because you've closed the chapter of a belief system in your life, of a negative experience. Speaker 2: So if people are saying, god, you go from one extreme to the other, you're so extreme, you're such an extremist yes, it may be that you're just having a pendulum effect of that. It could be. It could be literally that you are, you're going from one extreme to the other, because sometimes you have to experience the complete and total opposite of that so that you can find the balanceability within it and figure out okay, where on this spectrum of this A to Z do I actually want to be? Where? Speaker 1: do I want to be. It creates parameters that you can work within, because if you are considered extremist and you're going from one extreme to the next extreme, to the next extreme, then it, when you want to get the clarity, it creates that balance and then then you can do that and people will look at you differently and you look at yourself differently because you've understood the pendulum. Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah it's. It's kind of like that one movie where I don't know, are we allowed to do that? She didn't really know herself. So she went and tried all these different eggs. She went from one extreme of not eating the eggs to eating only the eggs that the man that she was with would eat, to not having a man in her life. Then she went on this whole journey of, okay, what freaking kind of eggs do I even like? So then she went and she ate all the different kinds of eggs, only to find out that she ended up liking plain old scrambled eggs. Balanceability. Speaker 1: Okay, I have no idea what movie you're talking about. Speaker 2: Well, I don't, or what movie you're talking about just eating eggs? Can we talk about movies Can? Speaker 1: we plug movies. You can talk about it, yeah. Speaker 2: Great. Now I've got to figure out what movie it was. Speaker 1: Oh well, when you think about it, you can. Speaker 2: You can plug it if you want to. It's Runaway Brad. Speaker 1: Oh Runaway Brad. Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a segment in the movie. Speaker 1: Well, that's telling your age, holy cow. Speaker 2: I embrace my age. I embrace my age. Speaker 1: I don't mind I'm over 50, in case you're wondering. The pendulum effect. You know the positives and negatives. Recognizing a pendulum when it happens can really give you some inner peace. And if everybody stops and realizes and stops and thinks about a time that they have pendulum, you'll kind of understand more. Like, if there's something that's confusing, it's in a life experience that you have taken on and you're you're in the middle of. If you stop and figure out why especially if it's uncomfortable , why am I in this spot where I am, why is my job treating me like this? Or why is my significant or partner, significant other or partner treating me this way? Or you know what's going on. If you stop and look at it, identify what caused this pendulum, and generally it's a negative experience, or what we view as a negative experience, and it could be a positive experience that you haven't. You haven't given yourself the benefit of, of uh experiencing. Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like you said, it could go both ways. You know if you're high on cloud doing what are we high on doing great, high on what? What are we high on? We're high on life man. Speaker 1: High on life. Speaker 2: We're high on those carrot sandwiches. Speaker 1: From the rabbit holes . Speaker 2: Yeah, If you're living high on life and then, all of a sudden, something that you see is disastrous happens in your life. And then, all of a sudden, something that you see is disastrous happens in your life and you can't figure out why. Maybe it's because you were supposed to experience the complete and total opposite of that, so that you can come back to a place of balance, ability, where you get full clarity of exactly what you want. Speaker 1: Right. Speaker 2: Understanding that the contrast helps you decide. Speaker 1: Oh, I agree, it's a contrast. You said the key word there, because that's what Pendulum is. It's complete and full contrast . Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 1: From one extreme, one parameter, to one experience, to the other side of that experience. One day you may be the drive-thru clerk and then one day you may be the owner of the company. Right, it's about how you experience it and look at it. Speaker 2: And I think, giving yourself permission to try on every single pair of shoes if you want to. Speaker 1: Yes, that's actually where I was going. Next is understanding that the pendulum opens doors. Speaker 2: And it's okay. It's okay to try on every single pair of shoes until you decide the one that looks perfect, feels perfect, is the shoe. If that means you go spend the day trying on every pair of shoes, then do that Right. If it means changing a job to go and try this kind of job until you find where you feel the best, then do that. Give yourself permission to try life on and see what fits, and that doesn't matter if it's on a monthly basis or a weekly basis or yearly. We're out of that era where you go work at the same place for the rest of your life. We're out of that era where you've got to wear the same A-frame dress and dress the same . We're done with all of that. So give yourself permission to go try things on, have experiences, see what brings you joy. Speaker 1: Yes, that's where I was going. Next is the pendulum will open doors for you, yeah, and it'll allow you to look at life from a different perspective. Yeah, you know, we hear it all the time is I mean, do you all ever stop? And no, we really don't. We constantly are being adventurous and doing different things. And you know, like, we just learned to scuba dive a couple years ago. You know, that's just one example and we live life adventurously. We go on trips without plans, we do things without reservations at a hotel, we'll just take off you know which, which we'd send some people into a tailspin. But sometimes we don't even take clothes with us no right, we'll just stop and buy some and go on, but the or wear the same clothes every day. We have done that. We've done that once too, or twice. Speaker 2: Sometimes we get caught in the rain on the motorcycle, yeah, or in a major thunderstorm on the jet skis Right. It's kind of crazy and some people look at us and say, oh, my God, did you not check the weather? You're not thinking? You've got to think more about this. This is so unsafe for you. What are you doing? Speaker 1: No, that's exactly. A good point is when you have the pendulum effect and you've already seen one extreme to the next extreme, everything in between, you have no fear of. Speaker 2: Right. Speaker 1: And that's what I'm talking about that opens doors. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 1: Once you realize that the pendulum effect, like even in life, when you went from one extreme maybe you're in an abusive relationship and then you went to a relationship where the whether your partner was not assertive at all, or suffocating and too loving to where it's just overwhelming you become, to where you know what. I'm going to give that mediocre person the chance I'm going to give that balanceability the chance. Speaker 2: I'm going to give that balanceability a chance. Speaker 1: That balanceability a chance. It'll open the doors to think about different things of doing it, because now you have went from one extreme to the next, everything in between is kosher. Speaker 2: Right. Speaker 1: The part of the pendulum effect that I enjoy is when you do pendulum, the balanced area has no fear. Speaker 2: Yeah, you remember in the podcast I don't remember which one it was I talked about journaling. When you do find yourself in a place of fear that was in Unicorn Farts Journaling, the worst case scenario. That's the same concept Creating that pendulum effect on paper and taking the scenario. Is it scenario or scenario Scenario what? Speaker 1: It's scenario. I think it depends on where you're from, because the UK may be scenario. I don't know Well where you're from, because the UK may be scenario. Speaker 2: I don't know Well where am I from today. Why do I say scenario? Speaker 1: I have no clue. Speaker 2: Is it E-R or A-R? Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe somebody can tell us on here Scenario, I'm just an old redneck. Speaker 2: Well, for a half a second it sounded like I was mispronouncing it. Speaker 1: Well, maybe you were. Speaker 2: Okay, well, scenario, scenario tomato tomato. Speaker 1: Yeah, I knew that was coming. Speaker 2: That's kind of the premise I was putting out. There is create actually create a pendulum for yourself. When you find yourself in a situation and you've put a topic down and you think it is a bad situation that you're in, write that story in that pendulum place. Take it far as you can out there to the worst, worst case scenario. Speaker 1: Here we are in that area again and then take it in the other direction. A are in the RU area again. Speaker 2: And then take it in the other direction. A pendulum in the other direction. Speaker 1: Yes. Speaker 2: And write that story in the absolute best case scenario where I changed it up for you, thank you when there's no rules and you can live in a mansion and have all the money you want with the perfect partner. Write the two extremes of the story down on a piece of paper. When you're confused or can't figure something out, yeah. And put it in a pendulum state. Then it makes you mentally ready for all of that and you can decide where is the balance point for me and what is it that I do want? It's a long way around it and most people don't really find time to sit and write pages and pages of stories. Speaker 1: Not everybody is Dr Jenny. Speaker 2: On the positive note, it could become a book. Yeah, a chapter in a book. Speaker 1: Could be cool. It could be a non-fictional or fictional, I guess. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 1: You never know About adventures, life adventures. That would be kind of cool actually. Yeah, you said it right Don't allow the or go ahead and allow the experiences of the pendulum to become whatever you want it to be. Yeah, when you have experienced both ends of that spectrum, it removes the fear. So why not create the story how you want it? Speaker 2: Yeah, which falls into, by the way, and you writing those stories that way helps control the monkey mind about it as well it does, it most definitely does, because then you take the power away from the monkey mind to be able to tell the story for you negatively yeah, right, in a, in a way that just creates and feeds into worry, fear or or whatever. Yes, if you're creating the story as bad as you possibly can , come up with it and then putting in place solutions to every one of those turning points, then the monkey mind has no platform anymore. I agree, pendulum, that's why you're a doctor. But you know, hey, there's another pendulum, there's another definition of that word. You know that little thing on the string, mm-hmm. You know, that little thing on the string, mm-hmm, you can swing back and forth. Speaker 1: Yeah, we play with those. Yeah, pendulum, which is, if you ever watch, what was that show on TV? The Three Witches, what was it called? Speaker 2: Charmed. Speaker 1: Charmed. Speaker 2: That's it. The Charmed show, where they always. Speaker 1: That's how they found their sisters, the locator spell yeah, the locator spell with their pendulum. Yeah, yeah, that was a pendulum . As a matter of fact, I think it was an ivory pendulum, if I remember right, because it was really cool looking. Speaker 2: I don't know, I was too busy looking at. Speaker 1: Looking at what? But so anyway, back to pendulums, the pendulum effect, if you stop and really think of it, the map silly. I know the map of where it was going. I understand. I know what you're talking about. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 1: The pendulum. If you experience it and if you stop and think about it and identify a pendulum in your life and identify it as a pendulum, it'll kind of give you a little bit more. Insight identify it as a pendulum. It'll kind of give you a little bit more insight and peace of mind and will allow you to create better intentions and processes for the future and hopefully change some belief systems around some of the life experiences. Yeah for sure. Do you agree with that? Speaker 2: I do, and it'll make it feel a little easier, a little softer. It'll take the edge off. And so this is what I'd like to do, and it'll make it feel a little easier, a little softer. It'll take the edge off. Speaker 1: And so this is what I'd like to do. Speaker 2: You could say you know what? This is? Just a pendulum. The energy's going to run out for a minute. It's like that little doodad, you know with the silver balls, and you let go of one Tink tink, tink, yeah the five balls the five stainless steel balls? Yeah, and they bing and they boing off each other. Eventually they run out of energy and it stops so eventually it's going to stop. Speaker 1: It becomes a balance abilities, plot. Speaker 2: Yes, nice use of the genie-ism. Speaker 1: So what is that called scientifically? Speaker 2: Balanceability. Speaker 1: Yeah, know that spot where the balls quit moving. Speaker 2: Non-movement Status Stillment. Speaker 1: Status Stillness Status. Speaker 2: Status. It's a point of status, a point of status when? Speaker 1: they're still, they're at status, they are moving. Speaker 2: Hey Siri, where's Alexa when you need her I know? Speaker 1: right You're looking for my. See if I'm right. Yeah, I could be wrong, but it sounded like I knew what I was talking about. Speaker 2: It did. You sounded very smart. Give this man a PhD quick. Yeah right Stat. Speaker 1: The funny part about it is, anyway, actually, let me go back to where I was. You know, bringing up the pendulum effect can identify a lot of things in your journey of life, and you'll find out that things go back and forth. And when they go back and forth , the more you recognize it, the more balance you get, and so what I want, if people will, is comment below this posting an example of one year pendulums yeah and then we'll talk about them in a future show for you. Right, we'll pick one out and talk about it. Speaker 2: And that goes for any , any topic you want to talk about, any question that you have. Literally, we will talk about anything. Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll help any way we can. You know, we've both been doing this for quite a lot, a long time and spent countless hours studying, practicing, trying to make our lives better, and we are here to throw balls on the table. Speaker 2: Sorry, editor. Speaker 1: And we are here for you guys. You know we do this out of fun, because we enjoy doing it. We hope you all enjoy listening as much as we enjoy making them . Because they're fun, we sit, you have no idea. We sit in here and laugh up and turn mics off while we laugh and and look at each other like we're crazy the whole time. But we enjoy it and we hope you guys do too. Remember comment down below. Speaker 2: Hit the like. Speaker 1: Like and hit the bell button. Speaker 2: And share. If you want, yeah, like and hit the bell button. Speaker 1: And share if you want . Yeah, share it with your friends, you know. If you think it's funny or if you just enjoy the content, let us know. We really appreciate it. We hope you've enjoyed the description of the pencil-em effect. Speaker 2: And the balanceability. Speaker 1: And the balanceability Word of the day and point of status, or status, I'm sorry. Point of status. That's where the motion is not motion, it's motionless, something like that. Speaker 2: Yeah, and is it scenario or scenario? Speaker 1: It's scenario. We appreciate you guys. Remember we love you and keep listening because we really enjoy doing it. The more you listen, the more we'll do. Journey on Journey on Deuces. Thank you,

Keep listening
